Rimini Street renders technical support services for the corporate software of SAP and Oracle. According to the company, clients of Rimini Street can save nearly 50% of means of the amounts which are requested by original producers of software. At the same time, the appeal to the third vendor automatically means that the user ceases to receive "native" updates for the used software.

Nevertheless, Rimini Street offered clients the cheap outdated systems, or consulting services in the prices are lower than official. The company said that their services are intended for those who cannot or do not wish to get technical support at the prices of vendor, or for what plans are not investment of essential means into new versions of programs.

Rimini Street in Russia

In May, 2018 Rimini Street through the partner – the Russian company Smart Way – entered the Russian market of support which the general manager of the company in Eastern Europe and Israel Jack Oster characterized as "perspective and important, with a large number of opportunities". Sergey Mironov, the head of Smart Way, said that the Russian bank from the twenty of the largest had to become the first client of the company. As potential clients the companies from spheres of energy industry and metallurgy were considered.

Rimini Street works with 95 customers from the list of Fortune 500 for whom it is crucial to cooperate with service providers who legally conduct the activity.

History

2018: As Rimini Street lives and works to spite of Oracle and multimillion penalties

Rimini Street, the alternative technical support provider of SAP solutions and Oracle, does not consider themselves by the losing party in long-term judicial proceedings which were initiated by Oracle which saw violation of own rights in activity of the company. On the contrary – in Rimini Street are completely sure of legality of the business and are going to continue work in global market of technical support[1].

The judicial proceedings which began in 2010 did not prevent the company which underwent pressure from Oracle to show steady growth all these years, to increase the customer base and to enter the new markets in spite of the fact that decisions of the courts not always appeared in its advantage. Let's remind that in 2015 the court sided with Oracle and obliged the defendant to pay to the claimant compensation in the amount of $126 million. At the beginning of January, 2018 as a result of the appeal the benefits amount was reduced by $50 million, and in the middle of August, 2018 the court obliged to pay Rimini Street to Oracle of $28 million more as compensation of legal costs.

In September, 2014 Rimini Street officially opened the regional headquarters in Israel, thereby having increased opportunities for successful accomplishment of the undertaken obligations for support and simultaneous expansion in the perspective market. By 2016 in Israel and Eastern Europe over 55 clients among whom five of ten of the largest companies of Israel used company services.

In September, 2017 Rimini Street became the public company. Its shares are still traded on the American stock exchange NASDAQ.

2010: A lawsuit with Oracle

Activity of the company in 2010 became a subject of the juicy scandal. Oracle filed a lawsuit against not the claim in which it is said that the staff of Rimini Street entered on client servers of technical support of Oracle and received required materials for technical support, and the input was performed from the normal client account which does not provide similar actions. Recently, claim in Oracle, employees of Rimini Street placed on service the automated program which in the automatic mode downloaded all new materials for clients appearing in the section of Oracle Tech Support. Judicial proceedings are conducted.
