2023: Multiplier Group bought Imbacod

On March 27, 2023, Multiplier Group JSC bought three structures that position themselves as video game developers. It is assumed that a new gaming holding will be formed on the basis of these assets, working in partnership with VK Play.

Multiplier Group JSC was created in 2021, and at the end of 2022 gained control over the assets of My.Games (the Russian business segment was renamed Astrum, Astrum Entertainment brand) and Pixonic (developer of mobile games; owned by VK prior to the sale to My.Games). At the same time, the group formed a joint venture Game Alliance with the publisher Innova Distribution, which releases online games in Russia, including Lineage II, Blade & Soul and Ragnarok. The new structure gained control of Warface, Perfect World, Allodes Online and others.

Holding that bought My.Games from VK acquired three more game developers

According to the Kommersant newspaper, Multiplier Group JSC at the end of March 2023 concluded agreements on the purchase of Imbakod LLC (developer of games for computers and consoles), Smartphones LLC (mobile games) and N-Jinn LLC (developer of turnkey code). All these enterprises were established in early January 2023.

Participants in the Russian market believe that in the future a large holding will be built on the basis of Multiplier Group, which will develop and publish games, as well as absorb small studios. In general, experts believe, this initiative looks promising: the Russian gaming market is emptying, and therefore a niche is freed up for new projects.

Astrum Entertainment is one of the largest publishers, which continues to grow due to new games, for example, Atomic Heart and Battle Teams 2. The company is already working with VK Play, we can expect the development of cooperation in the future, - Kommersant quotes the words of knowledgeable persons[1]
