Unified database for verification and validation of computer simulation software (EBD)

Product
Developers: RFNC-VNIIEF All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (Federal Nuclear Center)
Technology: CAD

The unified database (EBD) was created to systematize the use of numerical modeling tools and complex modern engineering analysis packages both foreign and domestic (LOGOS, etc.) in relation to the products being developed for the purpose of verification software and validation () of ON computer modeling (CM).

The EDB is intended for verification and validation of computer modeling software in the interests of introducing it at the defense industry enterprises and using it as part of the ROC to create promising samples of high-tech products, store tests and the results of their solution, test various versions of calculation modules on tasks contained in the EDB, and compare the results obtained in automatic mode. The systematization of the enterprise experience in the form of a database allows users to quickly gain access to previous experience in calculating similar processes, products and select the optimal parameters of discrete models and calculation modules.

The EBD is organized according to the principle of operation of the client of the server web application and includes the possibility of accumulating data based on the results of calculations of the characteristics of the developed products: initial experimental data; applications for verification calculations, validation experiments, tasks according to sections describing the productions and results of the solution with reference to certain versions of the solver; summary reports on the results of solving problems; calculated versions, including the history of the results of their verification and validation; guidelines and literature for validation and calculations, with the possibility of exchanging messages between users of the UBD; information about the users of the UBD, including their roles and access rights when working with the UBD.

The EBD provides the possibility of collective remote access of users to information. The EBD includes an interactive interface, a basic verification basis and the ability to test calculation modules in the case of an integrated automated testing system. The developed interactive interface allows you to navigate the database and reflects the basic functionality of the UBD. The basic verification basis includes test and application tasks in directions with a detailed description of calculations, demonstration of calculation models, results of solutions, experimental data. The use of an automated testing system is relevant in the event of new versions of calculation modules or a decision on the use of new computer modeling software at the enterprise.
