Installation of 50 thousand laptops and tablets in Sberbank branches

By the end of 2023, Sberbank had deployed 50,000 laptops and tablets under its own brand in its departments. The equipment is manufactured by Shanghai IP3 Information Technology.

According to Vedomosti, citing a source in a Russian electronics manufacturer and an interlocutor close to one of the retailers, deliveries of devices from Asian factories started in 2022, and in 2023 Sber imported a total of about 22,500 more laptops and 18,000 tablets. The first delivery of 9.2 thousand laptops for a credit institution took place in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The publication says that the laptops supplied by the bank are standard devices with the Linux operating system, on which third-party program blockers are installed at the request of the bank. These devices can also contain pre-installed corporate applications and portals for interacting with clients, such as MyOffice, SberChat, SberPulse and other Russian office programs. Experts also do not exclude the possibility of the bank's future sale of these devices at retail.

According to the newspaper, the leader in terms of laptop shipments for Sberbank in 2023 was the SDNB-14AP model, which is equipped with a 4-core AMD Ryzen 5 3700U processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and a 14-inch screen. The rest of the laptop options have more powerful processors: SDNB-15A, SDNB-15AP and SDNB-M15AR. The solutions run Linux.

During the same period, one tablet model, Tab SDT-11, was imported for the needs of a financial institution. The gadget is delivered with an eight-core 2 GHz UniSoC T1618 processor and an 11-inch display, the device runs on Android 11.

Analyst Sergei Vilyanov estimated the cost of laptops imported for Sberbank at 25-30 thousand rubles, and tablets at 10-12 thousand rubles.[1]

Purchase of 10 thousand devices "Sberbank"

In mid-April 2023, it became known that Sber began to switch to laptops of its own brand. 10 thousand devices have already been purchased.

According to Sheets"," the laptop deliveries were carried out by the manufacturer of smart devices SalyutDevices LLC "" (brand SberDevices) in partnership with the Chinese developer and supplier electronic engineers Shanghai IP3 Information Technology Co. This company provides customers with services for the design of equipment and the sale of finished devices. It has high-tech production lines for assembling electronics as part of corporate projects.

According to one of the sources of the publication, close to retailers and electronics manufacturers, Sber checks the performance of its own computers and subsequently plans to increase the number of equipment of its own production in branches.

The publication says that Sber has so far selectively distributed laptops of its own trademark to departments. Most of the bank's employees use Lenovo laptops in their daily work with visitors.

Given the fact that the traditional suppliers of Sberbank officially left Russia, it was clearly easier for them to order the original design at a factory in China. 10,000 pieces are already quite a commodity batch, and you can contact the manufacturer directly for it, and you can agree on compatibility with the software with it, "said Fintech Lab analyst Sergei Vilyanov in an interview with the publication.

According to the source Businessman"" on the market, "SalyutDevices" at the end of 2022 delivered a batch of several thousand tablets to Sberbank, which are at the testing stage and are planned to be used in retail branches.

According to experts, in the future there will be a demand for Sberbank laptops in the public sector. In the consumer segment, they will be in demand, provided that they are as technologically advanced as the products of other Chinese vendors, and have an approximately comparable price tag.[2]
