The Moscow DPC of Selectel introduced a control and management system for access

The integrated security system of data center of Selectel company integrates at the programming layer of a video surveillance system and access control, and is created on the Cisco brand equipment. It is the Russia's first project implemented on corporate solutions of Cisco by specialists of ARMO-LINE company. Within the project design, supply of equipment, installation of security systems, their integration and a commissioning which ensure safety of data center with a total area of 500 sq.m. was performed.

The new data center of Selectel network is located in Moscow on Berzarin Street and provides to the clients a broad spectrum of telecommunication services. The total area of its premises is 500 sq.m. from which the server hall occupies 300 sq.m. In data center 80 telecommunication cabinets, precision conditioners and clusters of uninterruptible power supply units are placed. The protected zone where actually installation of security systems was also executed, included data center and the warehouse for storage of the spare equipment of clients.

The integrated security system of data center is constructed based on the hardware and software system Cisco Access Control (ACS) which principal components are the server with the software of Cisco Physical Access Manager (Cisco PAM) and controllers to which RFID-and biometric readers, actuators, etc. the equipment of companies HID, Gianni, ZK Software, etc. are connected. Using this software configuring of controllers, monitoring of a security system and also its integration into different IT applications is performed.

Within the project installation of security systems on an object included installation of IP video cameras of Cisco company which create the high-quality image under different conditions of illumination and support Power-over-Ethernet technology. Besides, Cisco video cameras have the built-in microphones and can transfer an audiosignal on the IP channel. For the notification of the operator of a security system about the movement in video surveillance zones, these cameras are equipped with the special hardware detector. A system performs record and storage of video data on hard drives of the media server of Cisco company.

For creation of a video surveillance system specialists of ARMO-Line who executed design and installation of security systems in data center used the media server with software of Cisco Video Surveillance Media (VSM). It performs collecting and routing of video flows from system IP cameras, provides archiving, reservation and data security and also sorting of archive according to events, the movement, a team of the operator and according to a cycle. Thanks to integration of the video system and a control system of access, disturbing events in the system of access initiate a call on the monitor of images from the cameras mounted in alarm zones.

Additional protection against unauthorized movement across the territory of data center is provided by RFID readers of HID company, and on an input to especially secure facilities biometric readers of ZK Software company are installed. In composition of security of data center of Selectel also electromagnetic locks of Gianni company and magnetocontact sensors of opening of doors of the Smartec brand are used. For ensuring long independent operation of the security equipment at malfunctions in the power supply network ARMO-LINE executed not only installation of security systems, but also set uninterruptible power supply units of APC and Altronix companies on an object.

For providing the required security level in the territory of data center the special lock room which is intended for the main control and authorization of personnel and visitors is organized. It allows to carry out identification of the person who entered it and, in the absence of admission in data center, temporarily to block it in it. The lock platform consists of two interconnected doors, at the same time the door on an exit opens only if the entrance door is blocked, and the visitor has the pass right. During installation security systems in the gateway were installed two Cisco controllers which were programmed under the selected operation algorithms.
