Improved fraudulent transaction recognition and reduced hardware load

September 25, 2023 BI.ZONE introduced the updated BI.ZONE AntiFraud solution with improved recognition fraudulent transactions and reduced load on. hardware

The updated Offline Testing and Continue Processing functions  will help more effectively identify known fraudulent schemes and never before used, as well as reduce the load on hardware.

The number of transactions continues to grow, and with it the number of stolen money from bank accounts. According to statistics   from the national payment system, in the first quarter of 2023 alone, the number of transactions more than doubled compared to the same period in 2022. And the volume of stolen money increased by almost 30% compared to the average values of 2022 and amounted to 4.5 billion rubles. The attackers stole the most money through transfers using online banking.

Our main goal was to increase the number of recognized fraud scenarios - both already implemented and potentially possible. We aimed to improve the convenience of working with the rules and the accuracy of their operation and at the same time reduce the load on the hardware. The functions of the BI.ZONE AntiFraud fraud system made it possible to solve both problems: the effectiveness of identifying not only known, but also previously unused fraud schemes has increased. It was also possible to reduce the load on the "iron,"
noted Alexey Luzhnov, head of the BI.ZONE anti-fraud department.

Offline Testing allows you to create a test offline environment based on transactions that have already been completed. Each rule and calculation can be safely tested in such an environment, and if their effectiveness is confirmed, begin to be applied in real conditions. Test scenarios can also be applied to cases that have not yet been implemented, but potentially possible, which increases the level of security in general.

The second function, Continue Processing, extends the transaction processing mechanism. Typically, anti-fraud systems check a transaction against a list of rules, each of which has its own priority. If the priority rule has already worked, then the lower priorities are skipped.

Once the Continue Processing feature is implemented, the system will continue to check the transaction against the remaining rules, even if the higher priority of the rules works. This will help the customer gain a more accurate understanding of the transaction and adjust the settings that can cause false positives. BI.ZONE AntiFraud functions also include blocking multiple fraudulent accounts, preventing compromise of accounts, compliance with 167-FZ and 161-FZ], simplification authorizations for legitimate users, preventing the use of stolen accounts, protection from -. boatattacks

Integration of Session and Transaction Modules

BI.ZONE introduced an updated version of the fraud prevention system on April 20, 2023.

In the updated version of the system, a deep integration session and transaction modules appeared. This helps protect customers from attacks based on their behavioral model, such as using. malicious software Buhtrap In addition, updates will allow you to configure predictors from one system, speeding up the implementation of rules and detections to timely counter fraudulent activity. Also, BI.ZONE AntiFraud has improved its own, and SDK now the detection of remote control of the client device works even more efficiently.

In 2023, the company plans to add several more updates to BI.ZONE AntiFraud. All this will help optimize the financial and time costs of customers, as well as make a closed loop system out of BI.ZONE AntiFraud, where all stages of working with a transaction can be done internally. So, the user of the system will be able to accept the operation, process it, conduct an investigation and, if necessary, initiate research on old data.
