2023: Moving DBMS to CloudMTS

NDBC On April 20, 2023, the company announced that the clothing chain MODIS had transferred its database management system cloudy from the resource operator to the Frankfurt virtual infrastructure of the# c provider CloudMTS. St. Petersburg The company kept data the sales, purchases and goods to logistics necessary for the network to operate in the MTS cloud, and protected the business from suspension.

The SAP HANA analytical reporting system plays a significant role in logistics, warehouse management and financial planning of the company - this is about 1.5 terabytes of information accumulated over more than 9 years of the solution. After the departure of the German software developer from Russia, MODIS needed to move part of the IT infrastructure. The company chose# CloudMTS as a supplier of virtual infrastructure, the technological partner in the project was NDBC (NDIbC LLC), an expert in enterprise-level digital transformation, deployment, implementation and support of SAP solutions.

The# CloudMTS, NDBC, and MODIS project team agreed on the migration plan, steps, and duration according to functional requirements. The cloud provider has allocated the necessary amount of computing power. Due to restrictions on the part of the foreign service provider on the bandwidth of communication channels, the transfer of the database was divided into several stages. During the first stage, they created a full backup copy of the SAP system on the side of the German company, then transferred this copy to the customer's site, and then restored the database in the# CloudMTS data center in St. Petersburg to a pre-prepared infrastructure.
