2023: Product Creation

In mid-March 2023, developer BioBootloader released a specialized tool for automatic error correction in Python scripts. The solution was called Wolverine.

The tool is based on a language model OpenAI GPT-4 with advanced artificial intelligence tools. Wolverine is a free wrapper program that analyzes Python scripts through a neural network, independently detects bugs in them, and then makes the necessary adjustments to fix errors. The process can be repeated several times - if the modified script shows problems again.

The instrument itself is also written in Python. Wolverine got its name in honor of Wolverine, a character in the X-Men film series produced by 20th Century Fox and the Marvel Cinematic Universe media franchise. This mutant has the superpower to heal and regenerate tissues. By analogy, Wolverine "heals" Python script code, eliminating all bugs and inaccuracies.

The new tool also explains to the script developer what the identified errors are associated with. In addition, Wolverine is able to fix its own code if inaccuracies are found in it after re-checking.

In a short time, error messages are analyzed, changes are proposed, adjustments are made, and the script is restarted, the Hackaday website says.

Wolverine's source code is published on GitHub hosting. The developer emphasizes that the tool will be improved and supplemented in the future. In particular, it is planned to improve work with large files, add support for other programming languages, etc. The participation of the programmer community to develop the project is welcomed.[1]
