2023: Product Announcement

On April 13, 2023, American researchers at Rice University announced the development of a new electrical stimulation and vibration therapy system designed for people suffering from diabetic neuropathy.

The named ailment is a specific lesion of the peripheral nervous system caused by dysmetabolic processes in diabetes mellitus. The disease can be accompanied by numbness, tingling of the skin, pain in the toes and feet, imbalances, etc. The researchers note that existing treatments for diabetic neuropathy are based on the use of drugs or satisfied bulky vibration devices that patients need to stand on. Their Rice University team offered an alternative option.

A new development called StimuSock is a smart insole with integrated vibration elements. It can produce percutaneous electrical stimulation of nerves, as well as serve as a massager for the legs. Power is provided by the battery, and control is carried out via wireless communication through a mobile application.

American researchers reported on the development of a new system of electrical stimulation and vibration therapy

The smart insole has three vibration zones: front, center and rear. For each of them, you can independently adjust the intensity and type of stimulation. Thus, patients will be able to set the optimal scheme in accordance with the anatomical structure of the foot and the peculiarities of the course of the disease. The insole can be worn throughout the day - even when stimulation is not required. The developers have made a lot of efforts to ensure that the appearance of the product practically does not differ from the usual insole. The power supply charge, as conceived by the creators, will be enough for four 30-minute sessions of percutaneous electrical therapy per day.[1]
