On May 24, 2023, CTI announced the development of the CTI JAM Universal Multimedia USB Gateway. The solution allows you to maintain invested investments in video conferencing equipment and use it with new software clients of the VKS system.

Traditionally, specialized devices were used for video conferencing in meeting rooms - hardware codecs that provided high quality video and sound. The codec is the central node of the VKS client terminal to which various peripheral equipment is connected. To use the previously acquired equipment of Western vendors, many companies today are forced to look for alternative solutions for organizing meetings and online communications. Such a need is further increased in connection with the transition to platforms based on WebRTC software clients, where there are no necessary gateways for connecting VKS terminals to conferences.

CTI, recognizing the problems of its customers, has developed a convenient CTI JAM multimedia USB gateway that allows you to connect the existing hardware video conferencing codec with minimal costs.

CTI JAM is a good solution for organizations that already have VKS hardware codecs installed and want to maintain their standard functionality, but at the same time be able to work with any VKS software client. CTI JAM gives a second life to an expensive device and allows you to use it with Russian VKS without the need to buy new video cameras and microphones, "said Albert Islamov, director of the communication services department of the CTI integrator.

CTI JAM allows you to maintain the current functionality of the hardware codec, for example, the codec can continue to work in the customer's infrastructure using the H.323 or SIP protocol. When connecting the USB interface from the multimedia of the CTI JAM gateway, the system automatically switches to using the software VKS client installed on the laptop, detects new equipment - an external microphone, an audio system and a video camera of the hardware codec. Customers can now use their existing hardware codec with any software client on their personal computer or laptop.
