2025: Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation bought "My Sport"
The Ministry of Sports of Russia in December 2024 acquired the online platform "My Sport" from the investment group Volga Group of entrepreneur Gennady Timchenko. This was announced on January 17, 2025 by the Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev.
According to Vedomosti, the platform will be integrated into the state information system Sport. The service serves more than 2.5 million users, including 47 thousand coaches and 247 thousand athletes, functioning in 68 out of 89 constituent entities of Russia.
Andrey Markov, General Director of My Sport JSC, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, explained that the training and competition analytics received through the platform will be used to transform sports training and federal standards for sports.
Changing the status of this product will allow it to be more actively used in the infrastructure for training athletes, the expert emphasized. |
Infoline Analytics CEO Mikhail Burmistrov estimated the platform's market value in the range of ₽700 million to ₽900 million with an initial investment of ₽1,5 billion.
The platform provides sports schools with the opportunity to notify about the schedule of classes, accept applications for participation in competitions and track sports results. Coaches can submit electronic reports instead of paper ones, and local authorities can control the dynamics of sports in the region.
The Ministry of Sports plans to connect the remaining regions of Russia to the platform. The cost of connection will vary depending on the number of sports facilities in the subject and other factors.
The company "My Sport" was registered in 2021. Over 3.5 years of work, about ₽1,5 billion were invested in the project. The platform allows you to keep track of sports facilities, track their workload and targeted use of infrastructure.[1]
