2023: Neural Network Announcement

At the end of May 2023, it became known about the creation of a hybrid neural network in Russia, which allows you to create portable AI modules for unmanned aerial vehicles. The introduction of the development will speed up the development of the ALS industry by developing domestic production of components for aircraft, according to the authors of the project - specialists from the Design Bureau 3303 company and the Competence Center of the National Technological Initiative (NTI) "Mobile Energy Storage" based on MIPT.

As the press service of the NTI Platform told TASS, the architecture of the new system combines hardware (several chips on a special substrate) and software. The new approach has helped to increase speed and reduce power consumption of the complex.

A hybrid neural network has been developed for the production of drone brains

By the end of May 2023, the authors of the development had already begun introducing a neural network in the projects of several industrial customers, including in the areas of autonomous control systems for unmanned vehicles and smart sensors.

In our solution, there are no significant requirements for the computing power of individual units, which allows us to implement the approach on the national element base of Russian production available today. In addition, the presence of its own framework (software platform - approx. TASS) for launching ready-made neural systems removes the barrier associated with the departure of Western suppliers, - said Yuri Khvorost, project manager, general director of KB 3303 LLC.

The development is designed to remove a number of barriers that prevent the introduction of artificial intelligence in the ALS industry. They are associated with the restriction of the supply of processors and graphics cards necessary for the development and use of machine learning models to Russia and the termination of services by foreign suppliers of existing IT systems.[1]
