2023: 1S:TOIR improves analysis of nomenclature consumption statistics for rigid food packaging manufacturer Upax-Unity

LLC 'Upax-Unity"is one of the leading enterprises in Russia for the production of disposable rigid food packaging - plastic containers and cups for food, packaging for dairy and fat and fat products from polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Since 2017, Upax-Unity has been using the KORP 1S:TOIR solution to manage repairs and maintenance of equipment. The company not only installed the program, but is purposefully working to get the maximum return from the automation of MR, that is, to increase the efficiency of the processes of managing material assets and production in general.

An important role in this is played by timely logistics (logistics), the ability to control the consumption of the item and not inflate the warehouse. KORP 1S:TOIR helps to cope with this task, and recently a new report appeared in the system - "Statistics of nomenclature consumption" (release 3.0.4.1, January 2023). With its release, Upax-Unity LLC (as well as thousands of other system users at other enterprises) has the opportunity to calculate the minimum balance of the range not manually, but automatically according to consumption statistics. The new report gives a picture of the daily consumption of the item against the background of the monthly (or annual) consumption of the item. It provides information about warehouses, items, articles, characteristics and batches, as well as statistics on the consumption of materials and spare parts with details by month and year.

Andrey Likhotnikov, Deputy Chief Equipment Engineer at Upax-Unity LLC, comments: - We are pleased with the new analytics on the consumption statistics of the nomenclature (since the appearance of the report, we have noticeably reduced the time for making management decisions), as well as the work of the KORP 1S:TOIR system as a whole. Once we started with paper reports and journals, and now we have an automated logistics control unit, where warehousing is kept, a minimum balance of materials is formed, and an inventory of goods is periodically carried out. Our electronic logs of repair facilities are filled with up-to-date regulatory reference information, we take into account operating indicators, set deadlines, required resources and formed schedules for preventive maintenance. All this allows you to manage enterprise assets more efficiently.

The problem of the optimal size of warehouse balances worries the logistics service, the CFO of any enterprise (repair and maintenance management is not an exception), including Upax-Unity LLC. Excess stocks are diverted funds and expenses for the maintenance of large warehouse space, and their shortage is the risk of equipment failure and revenue decline. The financial well-being of the company largely depends on effective supply and inventory management. That is why calculating the recommended stock balance of an item is of high value for each enterprise.

Even before the implementation of the KORP 1S:TOIR in the enterprise, the consumption of the item in the warehouse and in the workshops was carried out in Excel, which took a lot of time, given the number of materials used. In 2017, the process was digitized: the specialists of Upax-Unity LLC implemented the 1S:TOIR solution and began to use the typical functionality of the system.

Upax-Unity uses various types of equipment, including extrusion lines, molding, packaging and painting machines, a complex for the preparation of raw materials and much more. Each type of equipment requires an individual approach to maintenance and repair, while special attention is paid to compressors - eight of them are used at once at the enterprise. Today, the KORP 1S:TOIR facilitates the task of servicing the entire variety of technology of the enterprise. For example, clear and understandable product orders for the service of all eight compressors are compiled and distributed to suppliers for the year ahead.

Andrei Likhotnikov says that since May 2022, the company has switched to consulting support for Desnol Soft experts: Upax-Unity LLC plans to achieve even more efficiency in MR and wants to use all the capabilities of the system for this.

Currently, the joint work of specialists is aimed at improving the ease of use 1S:TOIR the KORP engineering and technical service: employees will have constant access to up-to-date information on spare parts and process charts that contain a list of operations with attached materials, will be able to conduct an operational analysis of the state of the equipment and plan costs in accordance with the WEP.
