2023: Launch of a stationary eco-monitoring complex
On June 8, 2023, Rostelecom announced the launch of the first environmental control post in the Nizhny Novgorod Region into test operation .
A stationary eco-monitoring complex is installed in the Maksimov Park in the city of Bor. A comprehensive solution will allow regional authorities to monitor the state of the environment and promptly respond to air pollution.
The environmental control post is a pavilion where measuring instruments are located that determine the composition of air and the amount of harmful substances contained in it: dust, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and formaldehyde. Electrochemical and photochemical detectors take measurements at a certain frequency. This data is consolidated and transmitted via mobile communication to the server of the State Budgetary Institution "Ecology of the Region," then the information is analyzed and displayed in the system interface.
In case of exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations, a mobile environmental laboratory will quickly leave to check the parameters of atmospheric pollution and detect the source of pollution.

Over the past five years, the volume of pollutants in the atmosphere has halved. However, work to improve the environmental situation continues. An information and analytical center and stationary and mobile eco-laboratories have been created on the basis of the regional institution "Ecology of the Region" for a comprehensive analysis of air composition,}}

The start of the test operation of the stationary eco-monitoring complex was given by the First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of RFKonstantin Tsyganov.
By the end of 2023, Rostelecom will put into operation seven more eco-monitoring complexes in Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Vyksa, Kstovo, Balakhna and Bogorodsk.
