On June 9, 2023, it became known that VK Holding will create a new software development platform. State funds in the amount of 600 million rubles will be allocated for the implementation of the project.

According to CNews, information about the initiative is contained in the roadmap "New System-Wide Software (Software)," in the preparation of which Rostelecom, VK, Kaspersky Lab and 1C participated. The document was approved by the Government Commission on Digital Development and the Use of IT to "improve the quality of life and conditions for doing business."

The VK project provides for the creation of the DevSecOps platform. This concept includes tools and processes that encourage cooperation between developers, information security specialists (IS) and operating groups to create effective and secure software. The main task of DevSecOps is to help development teams solve information security problems.

It is known that a subsidiary of the holding, VK Digital Technologies, will be engaged in the creation of a DevSecOps solution as part of VK. The product description states that the most efficient, fast and reliable software development and its launch on the market requires close interaction between different teams. These include the programmers themselves, the operating group and information security specialists who test the software for vulnerabilities and other potential threats. The new DevSecOps platform will provide cooperation between these teams at all stages of software development.

If earlier, for example, an information security specialist connected to testing software for security only after the completion of the main stages of development, before the release, now its presence is necessary at all stages, the roadmap says.[1]
