2021: Transition to online interaction with the Federal Tax Service
Thanks to the use of Agile and Data governance approaches, as well as the use of meta-components of BI.Qube, TATNEFT switched to a new form of tax control "Tax Monitoring" in just nine months.
TATNEFT is one of the major public vertical integrated oil companies in, Russia which carries out its main activities in. The Tatarstan group includes enterprises, oils and gas productions oil and gas processings oil and gas chemicals,, mechanical engineering power industry tire complexes, a network of gas stations, etc. To build a tax monitoring system, the software components of BI.Qube, an in-house development of iT Pro, were used.
The deployed enterprise data management solution has a flexible and scalable architecture. On the basis of the available model of consolidated reporting data, a showcase of tax monitoring data was promptly developed. This allowed the company to switch to a new form of tax control and reduce the cost of providing documents during documentary and office inspections, build an internal control system (ICS) and thereby minimize risks. The system makes it possible to minimize the timing of tax measures and replace office checks of the Federal Tax Service with online interaction.
The Federal Tax Service receives regulated online access to tax reporting. The system allows, in the early stages, to identify issues that require attention in tax accounting, to remotely coordinate with the tax authority the position on taxation of transactions, to obtain a motivated opinion, to proactively identify tax risks and to resolve controversial situations in advance.
The tax reporting key figures are displayed in the online data mart after all control procedures have been completed on time. The visualization of tax returns and subledgers has a hierarchical structure. Moreover, online it is possible to step-by-step decomposition of the declaration to primary documents (drill-down & drill-through) with cross-control of results at each stage. This solution was implemented thanks to a large project previously implemented in the company for linking data in accounting systems with data from the document management system at the level of each primary document.
2020: Moving to Continuous Data Consolidation
Consolidating data from several different accounting information systems of twenty-six enterprises in an automated mode with error reconciliation and the formation of consolidated financial statements on their basis is not an easy task. We need experience integrating data from a variety of heterogeneous accounting systems and regulatory reference information, designing and implementing relevant architectures in a single landscape. It was such a project that was successfully implemented at TATNEFT.
It was carried out by the Moscow company iT Pro, a Microsoft partner with Gold level competencies, and the accounting and reporting department of TATNEFT with the technical support of TATNEFT - Digital Development.

To build the solution of the consolidated financial statements, the software components of BI.Qube, an in-house development of iT Pro, were used.
The key goal of the project was to reduce labor costs for the formation of TATNEFT's consolidated financial statements. For this, a system of automated formation of the main forms of summary reporting was developed, daily data collection was established with an average volume of about 450 MB from 12 different source systems (dozens of enterprises). Using the functions of Microsoft's BI platforms, a universal mechanism for allocating rules was created.
The multidimensional data model has become the basis for hierarchical construction of financial reporting forms - from detailed indicators to tax returns - with the ability to quickly analyze data in any sections. To correctly enter large amounts of setup data, a specialized web interface with a developed control system was used.
The key to success was that the customer's team understands the goals of the project well. This made it possible to obtain and develop complex working solutions, commented Dmitry Polikovsky, Development Director of iT Pro.

The project allowed PJSC TATNEFT to reach a new technological level of data management and analysis, including presentation of consolidated management indicators based on actual accounting data with daily update. And this is not only about the operational availability of data, which was previously available much later. The implemented system visualization and "immersion" in data allowed, firstly, to save the business from direct contact with the accounting service and reduced time access to data to zero, explained Ramil Akhmetshin, Deputy Chief Accountant of TATNEFT.

The project demonstrates the experience of digitalizing management processes in large companies on the inexpensive and productive Microsoft platform. Consistent implementation of solutions, phased integration of transactional systems made it possible to effectively consolidate and transform data, and quickly establish processes for extracting valuable knowledge from disparate corporate sources. The system is rapidly developing and scaling to all TATNEFT Group enterprises. There are even more ambitious tasks ahead - integration with production systems based on the company's process management model and the formation of a digital twin.
2019: Analytics System Implementation and Inventory Management Optimization
Through the use of approaches Agile and, Data governance as well as application, Russian software BI.Qube"" Tatneft implemented the system in a short time analysts and improved the efficiency of inventory management.
To build a system of enterprise data management and analytical solutions based on it, the software components of BI.Qube, an in-house development of iT Pro, were used.
The Microsoft platform and the meta-components of BI.Qube created a single data warehouse using data visualization tools from sources such as SAP and various versions of "1C." Already at the pilot stage, the task of improving the quality of management decisions was solved by providing top management with information panels with operational information with daily discreteness. This made it possible to verify the effectiveness of flexible scaling technologies, the possibility of making changes to the analytical model with a minimum of labor.
The solutions implemented in the system made it possible to give impetus to the development of the concept of managing working capital and operating expenses. Losses hidden earlier were revealed financial temporary , new tasks for reducing stocks and debts appeared, cost optimization processes were launched. A large-scale project has been launched to reduce the time for registration and signing of documents, said Ramil Akhmetshin, Deputy Chief Accountant of TATNEFT.
