The national space system (NAS) of the United States will use IFS Applications for the integrated logistical support including supply chain management and also technical tinning and repairs. The decision made by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will lead to reliability augmentation of the equipment. As the system integrator in this project the Lockheed Martin company will act.
NAS is one of the most complex systems on management of aircraft in the world and controls daily more than 50,000 internal runs and even more international. A system integrates 14,500 managers, 4,500 safety inspectors of flights and 5,800 technical specialists. Among 41,000 operating rooms is constructions of NAS of 19,000 airports and 600 buildings of air traffic control service. Besides, the organization possesses more than 71,000 items of equipment which needs service.
The integrated logistical support based on IFS Applications will replace the existing system of logistics and inventory management in the Logistic center FAA and also the solution on distribution and an inventory control which is operated in the Center of aeronautics in Oklahoma.
Aircraft and defense – one of the key vertical markets for IFS. Possibilities of IFS Applications in management of fixed assets (EAM) and maintenance and repairs of the equipment (MRO) are complemented with completely integrated functionality on project management and product lifecycle (PDM). In IFS Applications the best world practices on fleet management, its maintenance and repairs, supply chain management for aviation and defense industry are implemented.
