Gleb Fetisov's structures bought Komsomolets

On June 26, 2023, it became known that the structures of ex-Senator Gleb Fetisov were buying the unprofitable Trans-Baikal agricultural holding Komsomolets, which manages approximately 190 thousand hectares of agricultural land.

According to Kommersant, the approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for the purchase of 100% of Komsomolets Tribal Plant JSC was received by Agro-Industrial Complex LLC. This structure belongs to LLC Irrico, which is owned by ZPIF Signet - Investment 1 under the management of Signet Capital. This company, in turn, belongs to Pavel Polukhin, general director of the Gubernsky consortium, the beneficiary of which is Gleb Fetisov.

The deal between Irrico and Komsomolets is at the final stage. At the same time, the valuation of the asset takes into account mainly its debt burden: according to the financial statements, at the end of 2022, Komsomolets's long-term and short-term liabilities exceeded 2.2 billion rubles. At the end of 2022, the company's net losses amounted to 104.82 million rubles with revenue of 586.45 million rubles.

Agroholding "Komsomolets" specializes in the cultivation of rapeseed. Market participants believe that the new owner can organize the export of culture to China on the basis of the enterprise. In addition, the development of processing rapeseed on the raw material base of Komsomolets may become promising. Sovekon director Andrei Sizov, according to Kommersant, believes that Gleb Fetisov, who has experience working with Chinese business, can attract a strategic investor from the country to Komsomolets in order to "quickly return part of the investments and in the future facilitate supplies to the PRC." At the same time, Sizov emphasizes, the new owner can reshuffle management and try to increase the efficiency of the agricultural holding.[1]
