2023: NFT Collection Release
On June 5, 2023, the German Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND) introduced its own collection of NFTs - non-replaceable tokens.
The collection was called "Dogs of BND." These are 999 unique images of dogs inspired by four-legged, in the service of German intelligence. NFT can be obtained by finding a special character string posted on Instagram (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization; activities in the Russian Federation are prohibited) and pointing to the address Ethereum.
According to the resource Decrypt, as of June 21, 2023, 987 available non-replaceable tokens from the collection have found their owners. Thus, the remaining twelve NFTs are not included in the set. It is noted that the tasks that users needed to solve to gain access to a unique image of a dog were not very difficult. In particular, one of the owners of the NFT noted that it took him only about two minutes to perform the required actions.
Our goal with blockchain and the original NFT collection was to draw public attention to the fact that BND is an interesting employer that is also active in these subject areas, "said BND Media Relations Manager Isabelle Kalbitzer. |
The BND Dogs collection is represented by exclusive images showing German shepherds in one image or another. It is noted that the entire project was initially comic in nature. However, public interest turned out to be very high. Therefore, to access the remaining twelve NFTs, you will have to solve much more complex problems. This could be, for example, hacking smart contracts.[1]
