2023: Appointment as CEO of Puma in Russia
Czech citizen Miroslav Fish became the general director of the Russian office of Puma, which became known at the end of June 2023. Before heading Puma-Rus LLC, Fish held the position of CEO in the Puma Nordic division, which is responsible for the development of the company in Sweden, Norway and Finland, for more than two years. The previous general director of the Russian office of Puma, Victoria Pigalskaya, held this post for about four months. By the end of June 2023, Pigalskaya works as the CFO of Puma in the Russian Federation.
Managing partner of Transearch International Stanislav Alekseev, in a conversation with Kommersant, suggested that the appointment of a foreigner as general director of the Russian division of an international company is more of an exceptional situation today. According to him, in the case of Puma, this may mean both an intention to continue working in Russia and a willingness to close the business with the help of an employee who has the confidence of the global office and is familiar with the local market in order to resolve issues with lease agreements, commodity balances, etc.
According to the newspaper, by the end of June 2023, Puma is looking for opportunities to resume work in the Russian Federation. According to one of the sources, the brand's stores may open in the near future, but under a different name and, "probably, a different management." The Russian office of Puma can engage in wholesale supplies, as, for example, the American VF Corporation, which owns the Vans brand, did. According to the Federal Accreditation Agency, in April 2023, Puma-Rus received the first declaration on Puma women's and men's shoes this year.[1]
