Alexander Alekseev was dismissed from the post of director of the Territorial Fund for Compulsory Medical Insurance of the Leningrad Region. The relevant information at the end of June 2023 was posted on the Telegram channel of the press service of the administration of the Leningrad region.

According to the press service of the Leningrad region administration, such an order was signed by the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko. The reasons for Alekseev's dismissal were not disclosed.

According to the Lennews.ru portal, personnel changes may be associated with the interest of law enforcement agencies in the work of some medical institutions of the Leningrad region. It includes emergency and planned medical care, as well as medical examination, operations and the provision of medicines to beneficiaries.

Law enforcement officers are looking for employees who are only listed in the state to withdraw money from the MHIF. Also in the Leningrad region, inspections of covid (COVID-19) hospitals are being carried out, after which the leadership in several has already changed, the publication says.

In addition, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs is deciding to initiate a criminal case on the fact of the illegal withdrawal of 44 million rubles from the account of the Tikhvin interdistrict hospital. According to investigators, these funds were received from insurance companies for 700 patients allegedly undergoing treatment in the rehabilitation department.
