2023: System Announcement

At the end of June 2023, it became known that the Russian company Laboratory of Automation Technologies had created a new automated process control system (APCS). A product called Lacerta is expected to become an alternative to the solutions of suppliers who have left the Russian Federation, such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Yokogawa, etc.

According to CNews, referring to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the Laboratory of Automation Technologies was registered in Moscow on August 25, 2021. In its structure, 51% of the shares belong to Venture Fund T2 LLC (equal co-owners - Dmitry Tikhonov and Alexander Timchenko), and another 20% to Vadim Podolny, a native of Rosatom, who led the development of APCS used at many NPP power units. In addition, 20% of the company is owned by Alexander Zaytsev, 5% by Sergey Sheludko, 4% by Konstantin Rukhadze. The General Director of the Laboratory of Automation Technologies is Tikhonov, who acted as the chief designer of a number of automated control systems of Russian Railways.

A native of Rosatom brought a new APCS to the Russian market, which will replace the Siemens and Schneider Electric systems

The Lacerta platform is based on a patented development called "System for managing, collecting, processing, storing and providing access to data from industrial automation devices and the Internet of Things." The authors of this technology are Podolny, Zaytsev and Sheludko. "Lacerta" is a solution of the upper level of APCS. The product, as CNews clarifies, belongs to the class of software platforms for the development of operational control systems, such as SCADA (dispatch control and data collection).

It is assumed that "Lacerta" will find application at the facilities of the critical information infrastructure of Russia. These are, in particular, enterprises of the energy complex, data centers, various industrial structures, etc. "Lacerta" is focused on working with Russian OS, and PostgreSQL is used as a DBMS for storing metadata.[1]
