Alazan (anti-hail missiles)

Russia launched the production of missiles against the city to protect agricultural crops from it. We are talking about the Alazan-8M system, which was created in the Cheboksary JSC "CHPO named after V.I. Chapaeva" (part of Rostec).

According to the state corporation, by July 2023, Alazan missiles are the only means of protection against city violence in Russia. They spray a special reagent in the clouds, which leads to rain instead of hail.

Manufacturing missiles against hail to protect crops from it

According to the developers, the Alazan-8M rocket is an improved version of the popular Alazani-6. It differs from its predecessor in its smaller caliber and new ice-forming composition with a reduced silver content, which made it possible to reduce material costs by 20% and make the new product more accessible to customers.

Anti-hail missiles of the Alazan line are capable of hitting city-hazardous clouds at a distance of up to 10 km and at altitudes of more than 8 km. Only environmentally friendly components are used for their production. The rocket is equipped with a self-liquidation system: it is crushed in the air into small fragments that do not harm either people or buildings on the ground. At the same time, the reagent in the Alazani composition is completely harmless to the environment.

It is claimed that Alazan-8M missiles are capable of reducing crop losses from hail in the southern regions of the country by 70-90%. The first products have already been sent to specialized meteorological services, Rostec reported on July 7, 2023.

We record an increase in demand for such products, and therefore launched mass production of the new Alazani in Cheboksary. If necessary, CHPO JSC named after V.I. Chapaeva is able to completely close the needs of both consumers within the country and foreign customers, the press service of the state corporation added.
