2023: Appointment as Head of the Ministry of the Republic of Ingushetia

On July 7, 2023, by decree of the head of the Republic of Ingushetia, Zarem Antoshkieva was appointed the new head of the regional ministry of health. Previously, she held the position of chief physician of the Nazran city hospital, according to the website of the government of the republic.

Thus, in Ingushetia, for the fourth time in 4 years, the head of the Ministry of Health was replaced. Since February 2022, the Ministry of Health of Ingushetia has been headed by Magomed-Bashir Balaev, who previously worked as the head physician of the Children's Republican Hospital. His predecessor in this post, Rukiyat Torshkhoeva, was fired after an incident at the Republican Perinatal Center, where the patient fell into a coma after giving birth. The reasons for Balaev's dismissal are not specified.

In June 2023, an incident occurred again in the perinatal center. According to open sources and the media, one of the patients of the institution urgently began childbirth, however, without calling the doctors, she gave birth to a child on her own in the hospital ward. The local Ministry of Health, the prosecutor's office, as well as Roszdravnadzor, immediately after the public outcry, organized their inspections.

Zarema Antoshkieva has the title of Honored Doctor of the Republic of Ingushetia. As noted in the regional government on July 7, 2023, Antoshkieva has been working in the health care system for 34 years. During this period, she held various positions in the regional medicine system.[1]
