Sales of plastic shutters and blinds in Russia in 2022 amounted to 3.18 million square meters, which is 9% less than a year earlier. Such data in July 2023 were provided by the GuideMarket marketing research agency.

According to analysts, the market for blinds and shutters made of plastics in Russia significantly depends on the import and development of domestic production. For the period from 2017 to 2022, there was a decrease in market volume by 27.9% or 1.2 million square meters. The only increase in market volume for this period was recorded in 2020, amounting to 2.7%. However, in 2022, the trend towards a reduction in the market volume, which was seen earlier, continued, the researchers note.

They add that the results recorded at the end of 2022 show the difficulties faced by the market for blinds and shutters made of plastics in Russia. The decline in market size may be due to various factors, including economic difficulties, changing consumer preferences and competition with imported products.

Despite the challenges, the development of domestic production and an increase in its market share may become factors contributing to the restoration and growth of the market for blinds and shutters made of plastics in Russia, experts say.

According to the research company TK Solutions, in 2022, Russian enterprises produced 1.4 million square meters of plastic shutters and blinds, which is 5.4% less than in 2021. The average annual increase in production (CAGR) of these products for the period 2017-2022 amounted to 14.7%. The leading federal district of the Russian Federation for the production of plastic shutters and blinds is the Siberian Federal District (24.8% of production for the period from 2017 to 2022), in second place is the Central Federal District (17.4%).[1]
