IT solution in restaurant business automation Absolut POS has entered the market. The development company announced this on July 13, 2023. It is designed to replace foreign products that left in 2022, offering autonomy in case of communication failures, free access for the self-employed, as well as automation of the entire perimeter of the institution's work in one window.

The Absolut POS service was created by the Russian development team for private investments, which amounted to about $2 million. The app works on the freemium model, offering a free subscription for small establishments - coffee outlets, bakeries, food trucks, shawarma kiosks.

The technology allows employees to manage all processes in one window from a smartphone or tablet - from accepting orders from visitors to keeping records, marketing activity, sales analytics, document management and calculating product purchases. The system prevents business losses due to corruption, theft, or excess procurement. The accepted order is instantly sent to the kitchen or bar, which increases the service speed by an average of 10%. Revenue from institutions involved in testing the system grew by an average of 15-17% within three months of using the app.

At the beginning of 2022, several foreign players left the restaurant automation market, and the remaining technologies were characterized by excessive or insufficient functionality and complexity in use. The pandemic and a series of crises in 2022 reduced the profitability of the restaurant market by almost a quarter, so it is important that IT products do not create loads and unnecessary costs for entrepreneurs. We made our application free for self-employed catering owners, and for points with an area of ​ ​ up to 150 square meters, where up to 7 employees work per shift, the subscription price will be 4990 rubles per month - said Alexey Smirnov, regional director of Absolut in Russia and Belarus - Multifunctionality and availability will help our service fill the gap that arose in the Russian market due to the departure of a number of foreign providers. We expect to occupy up to 15% of the Russian market for automation of the restaurant industry over the next three years, providing technology for more than 25,000 catering outlets.
