History

2024: Attracting 44.6 million rubles of investments from the former top manager of Skyeng

In early August 2024, it became known that the former top manager of Skyeng and the owner of the Belarusian restaurant chain Smokkin Family, Ambartsum Amayakyan, invested $520 thousand (about 44.6 million rubles at the exchange rate as of August 2, 2024) in the Russian restaurant and retail automation service Absolut. As part of the deal, the businessman received a 10 percent stake in this startup.

The Absolut catering automation service was founded in 2022 fudtech-businessman Ivan Popov. The company's solution provides comprehensive automation of the restaurant's operation on the principle of "one window." Control can be carried out from a smartphone or tablet: functions such as booking tables, accepting orders, accounting and sales analytics, working with personnel, etc. are available. The service operates according to the freemium model: self-employed owners of small establishments (coffee shops, bakeries, food kiosks) have a free subscription, while establishments with employees are offered paid service packages.

Former top manager Skyeng invested 44 million rubles in an IT platform for managing a restaurant

In addition to developing software products, Absolut develops hardware solutions - terminals for managing restaurants. The company has created Absolut M1 and M2 all-in-ones for the hotel and restaurant business (HoReCa). The devices are available at the facilities of the Chinese corporation BOE Technology Group. The cost of monoblocks will be 59 thousand rubles and 74.9 thousand rubles for versions with one and two touch screens.

As part of the deal to attract investments from Amayakyan, the cost of Absolut is estimated at $5 million. The company will send part of the funds raised to the production of the first serial batch of its monoblocks in the amount of 1000 units. Retail sales of the terminals are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2024. The devices integrate with all catering automation systems operating in Russia - IIKO, R-Keeper, Absolut, SBIS Presto, Quick Resto, as well as with all types of peripheral equipment, including acquiring terminals, scales and bar code scanners.
