2023: Application of Satellite Communications Complex
On July 12, 2023, the Cosmic Communications State Enterprise (CS) and the Race Group of Companies on the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk conducted field tests of a Russian-made mobile satellite communications complex. The weight of portable equipment, which can be deployed in 10-15 minutes, was about 30 kg, the press service of the State Enterprise of the Constitutional Court notes.
The complex can be used to organize communication in extreme conditions, for example, in the elimination of natural disasters, when other means of communication do not work, as well as for tourist groups. During the tests, it was carried out AEROSPACE FORCES MINISTRY OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS from the Sakhalin Region and the atomic icebreaker Siberia, which by mid-July 2023 goes along the northern sea route. In the latter case, two GP CS devices were involved - Express-AM5 and Express-AMU3. Access Internet to the icebreaker is organized not only for managing the ship, but also for use by the crew to communicate with family and loved ones, the press service of the State Enterprise of the Constitutional Court said.
We once again clearly demonstrated that the satellite works where there is nothing else. We conducted tests in a place where there is no electricity and telecommunications, in heavy rain. At the same time, satellite communication with the island worked without delay and interference. This once again proves the demand for our services in all hard-to-reach regions, during rescue operations and for the development of tourism, - said Alexey Volin, General Director of the State Enterprise of the Constitutional Court . |
As reported on the official website of the Race company, the line of mobile satellite complexes is developing under the Snark brand. These devices are ground-based VSAT stations of the FlyAway class (transported in the baggage of the aircraft) and ManPack (in the pack), designed to organize broadband satellite communication in the field, for example, when organizing mobile communication points, disaster management, construction of temporary facilities, geological exploration, well drilling, broadcasting television reports[1]
