2023: Implementation of IPS Search
Research and Design Center "Akron Engineering" The implementation of Akron Group PDM Product Data Management (Product Data Management) has been completed data management , which will allow you to structure the storage of documents, ensure control over the movement of documentation throughout development lifecycles and reduce the time spent on approval. The Akron Group announced this on July 20, 2023.
Document flow of the research and design center - more than 5000 internal and external technical assignments, as well as more than 2500 sets of issued documentation per year. In addition to structured storage, two hundred specialists of the research and design center in several cities of Russia gained access to such digital processes as coordination of interdisciplinary technical tasks and issued engineering documentation, their approval through electronic digital signature, as well as control over the movement of documentation on all life cycles of development.
The PDM system, as an integral part BIM of the technology, will serve as a receiving and transmitting node data for the information modeling developed in the scientific and design center, and the principle of one-time introduction information and further transfer to the next life cycles will increase the accuracy and uniformity of documentation.
The development of the PDM system began at the end of 2022 from the update of the IMSearch software to its successor IPS Search, developed by the Belarusian company Intermech.
The implementation of IPS Search was carried out without the involvement of third-party integrators, by the developers of the Information Modeling Support Department of Akron Engineering SPC LLC and the Information Technology Department of Akron PJSC. This approach provides a high reaction rate when administering the system and developing new functionality.
The main feature of the system was the adaptation of software for processes created over many years of work. The purpose of this approach was to minimize systemic changes in work and long-term retraining of employees of the research and design center. This concept made it possible to carry out integration document flow with the internal ERP ISA development system, and taking into account the needs, the ERP ISA functionality was transferred to the WEB technology.
Digital processes will not only eliminate the possibility of loss, but also increase the speed of coordination of both terms of reference and issued documentation. The time intervals allocated for tasks within the reconciliation processes, as well as the dunning system, will allow specialists to keep the current tasks "in focus." Automated labor accounting will simplify planning, monitoring and reporting of documentation development, said Andrey Kolosovsky, Director General of the Akron Engineering Research and Design Center.
