The Infor company announced on October 4, 2010 release of the solution Infor SCM Demand Planning 6.4 entering a packet of Infor Supply Chain Management for use by specialists in demand planning. Demand Planning 6.4 provides transparency of demand in the descending flow of production and helps the enterprises to increase forecast accuracy and to consider bigger amount of data in planning process of demand. It allows them to reduce costs for investments into inventory stocks at the expense of more exact forecasts of consumer demand that will lead to increase in performance level, improvement of customer service and bigger quantity of opportunities for profit earning in the conditions of economic downturn.
New functionality helps schedulers to use better sales informations and to sales promotion in the course of forecasting, and to suppliers — in processing of orders that leads to development of more exact and predictable plans of demand and ensuring deliveries.
Enhanced statistical capabilities in a combination to knowledge of the market received on the basis of external and internal data provide the maximum accuracy of plans of demand for uniform international approach to "the correct state of affairs". It allows the companies to hold inventory stocks at the minimum level with smaller obsolescence that provides the best customer service concerning the most profitable products and, respectively, increase in a margin.
