2023: Integration of tools to improve the performance of developers and testers
Omega Software has integrated tools such as OmegaTester, OmegaChat and Resource Planning and other tools into the workflow in order to save employees from everyday but necessary routine tasks. The result was a twofold increase in the performance of developers and testers.
The introduction of third-party services such as YouTrack, Gitlab, Omega bot and TeamCity into the OmegaChat corporate messenger has reduced the reaction time to the tasks. This facilitates a faster transition to the next stage of development. In addition, the system automatically creates tasks in YouTrack. For example, when you create a Merge request, the status in YouTrack is automatically translated into Code Review. After merging the request, the task expects a build. When the build is ready, the task automatically enters the test state, notifying the testers.
The sanctions have pushed Omega Soft against the unavailability of Firebase, the service needed for testing. In response, the company's team created a service called OmegaTester, which includes a web console and applications for Android and iOS. OmegaTester optimizes the testing process by setting up a continuous download of "builds" that become available to testers. In addition, the system provides the ability to remotely install a "build" on devices linked to the account. The tester can install a build on remote devices through the admin panel, even if they are not next to it.
Resource Planning is a service that allows you to make plans for the long term. Dashboards allow timlids to see information about vacation schedules, employee workload and availability.
To facilitate work with customers, the company has implemented integration between YouTrack and Jira services. Previously, you had to update the status of tasks in both services. Now the information is automatically synchronized between them.
Even before the popularization of ChatGPT, Omega developed its own corporate chatbot, trained to answer employee questions. Bot understands questions posed in free form. In addition, it is possible to view the history of communication, adjust answers and train the bot to improve it.
The company also provided a corporate IT solution for project managers. Project managers no longer need to manually upload data about loading project participants into Google tables. By integrating with YouTrack, data is automatically extracted, converted from minutes to hours, and placed in the appropriate table cells for weekly reports. This significantly reduces the time spent on this task.
