2023: Introducing the PCEF Policy Management and Charging Control Solution

Experts from the IT companies RDP and Jet Infosystems presented the key capabilities of the joint policy management and charging control solution PCEF (Policy and Charging Enforcement Function) for Russian mobile operators. The traffic management solution in mobile networks will allow operators to maintain operation and develop the functionality of subscriber tariff plans. This was announced on July 25, 2023 by RDP.

After the suspension of the work of foreign vendors in the Russian market, mobile operators faced difficulties in the supply of equipment. Many companies had to pause plans for the development of tariff policy and quickly rebuild business processes. Taking into account the current situation on the Russian market, a trend has formed for the development of domestic analogues of foreign telecom solutions. As part of the partnership, RDP and Jet Infosystems have developed a new solution for operators that allows you to work with different types of traffic and flexibly configure tariff policies.

RDP Solutions Sales Manager Andrei Lotsmanov spoke about how PCEF recognizes and classifies mobile application traffic and web traffic. The first version of the solution with basic functionality will be released in 2023. In addition, IT companies RDP and Jet Infosystems plan to release the next version of PCEF, which will be supplemented with the ability to build rules with logical connections, as well as other necessary functions, taking into account the requirements of potential customers. The main advantages of domestic development will be the high accuracy of traffic detection and charging, as well as the operational replenishment of the base of classified mobile applications.
