The import-substituting development of Rostec will ensure the navigation safety of Russian ships. Rostec announced this on July 26, 2023.

The solution guarantees the possibility of emergency warning in all areas of the Global Maritime Disaster Communication System. Products are 100% produced from domestic components and can replace imported equipment. The start of mass production and the introduction of equipment is scheduled for 2024.

The hardware and software data transfer platform allows you to monitor the condition of the ship and crew along the entire route, and also provides emergency communication with ships, regardless of their location. The equipment included in the solution is installed on ships and coastal infrastructure facilities.

The platform was created by specialists of the Neptune Research Institute of the Roselectronics holding and was built on the basis of domestic radio transmitting and radio receiving devices Neptune PV/KV and RPU-PV/KV.

In addition, the system includes an automated operator workstation, an environment tablet, an automatic identification system receiver, antenna-feeder devices, switches, modems, as well as Wi-Fi equipment and tablets of duty specialists.

All areas of the global maritime communications system should be provided with a permanent emergency alert capability. The use of design and design methods allowed our engineers to create a domestic ship control and navigation safety system as soon as possible, not inferior to foreign models, but superior in a number of indicators, "said Sergey Pomazunov, interim general director of the Neptune Research Institute.
