2023: Automation of tax reporting for sellers on Ozon

Tochka Bank on March 27, 2023 announced that it had automated tax reporting for sellers on Ozon.

By 2023, Wildberries and Ozon's share of the online retail niche will account for more than half of total sales and orders. In 2022, the number of sellers at the Ozon site increased by 221% compared to 2021. For March 2023, they have to devote a lot of time to maintaining tax records or hire an accountant so as not to risk fines.

According to tax legislation, sellers when working on marketplaces are required to pay taxes on full trade turnover, including commission for services, - said Vasily Maksimov, product manager of Marketplaces Online Accounting Points - However, payments for sales that come to the seller's account do not include this commission. This affects revenue accounting and as a result the seller files incomplete accounts. An incorrectly calculated tax can be opened when checking the tax and end with the requirement of its additional payment, as well as the payment of a penalty. The solution was the automation of reporting by the bank: we have already tested the service with customers who trade on Wildberries, and made sure that it solves their problem.

Now the Ozon seller is only required to upload files of monthly sales reports on the marketplace to his personal account. The point will analyze sales data and automatically adjust revenue transactions by the amount of commission and other marketplace deductions. This avoids errors in the calculation of taxes, and reporting will comply with tax law. The service is available as part of the Online Accounting service.
