Roskomnadzor will spend 160 million rubles to protect infrastructure after a cyber attack

In July 2023, the Main Radio Frequency Center (GRCC), subordinate to Roskomnadzor, held a tender for the purchase of information security services (information security) of its infrastructure. Only Bi.Zone participated in the competition, they won.

As Vedomosti writes with reference to the draft agreement, Bi.Zone will have to provide information security services to the GRCC until the end of 2024. This center performs the technical measures necessary to implement the control and supervisory functions of the head Roskomnadzor. As follows from the data of the public procurement portal, this is the first purchase of the State Procurement Center "for Information Security," previously the FSUE did not conduct such tenders.

The services ordered by the GRCC are extremely popular on the market, and many government agencies and their subordinate structures conclude such contracts, because they are not able to independently provide information security and exercise control around the clock, experts interviewed by the publication say.

In November 2022, a cyber attack on the GRCC infrastructure was reported: then the attackers hacked the internal network of the enterprise, pumped out the data. In May 2023, the court fined the GRCC for data leakage. The need to strengthen cybersecurity systems is connected precisely with this incident, one of the experts interviewed by Vedomosti believes.

In July 2023, the Main Radio Frequency Center announced a tender for the development of protection for the information system for monitoring Internet resources (IS MIR). The total cost of work on the formation of requirements for information protection in the IS MIR and the development of the project of the corresponding system is 4.99 million rubles.^[1]
