2023: Building a Comprehensive Process Safety Management Solution

IBS and the Zyfra group of companies have begun to jointly develop a prototype of an integrated industrial safety management solution that will minimize production and ESG risks, reduce response time to incidents and reduce the cost of enterprises to eliminate their consequences. This was announced on August 8, 2023 by IBS.

It is information-analytical the industrial safety management system (IASB PB) will be created on the basis of a digital industrial platform, Zyfra Industrial IoT Platform on which MES a system and a system for remote control of industrial safety (KFB PB) have already been implemented. This IBS and Zyfras development will become a universal, unified automated workplace for enterprise management and occupational health and safety specialists.

The introduction of IASB PB will give companies a number of ESG and economic effects. The key ones are the reduction of injuries, minimization of ESG risks and the inclusion of enterprise management in the process of implementing the ESG strategy. Economically, thanks to IAS PB, companies will be able to achieve cost reduction in several areas at once. The reduction of labor costs and social contributions to workers in harmful and hazardous conditions can be up to 4%, a reduction in direct and indirect losses as a result of accidents and accidents - up to 14%, a decrease in the cost of processing the results of production control and audit, as well as incidents - up to 20%.

IASU PB will combine several subsystems. The data collection subsystem will allow you to perform a single collection of production data manually or through integration with other systems. The data storage and processing subsystem will allow you to process security parameters from existing systems and create probabilistic risk prediction models, analyze key statistical indicators and predict decision time. The analysis and control subsystem consolidates this information to monitor the state of industrial safety, timely notification of various events and the formation of analytical reports. Another subsystem will ensure the planning and operation of industrial safety management processes, which include the processes of managing a special assessment of working conditions, personal protective equipment, inspections, a work permit system, health protection and others. If such a subsystem is already implemented in the company, it will be possible to configure its integration with the IASB.

At the same time, Zyfra Industrial IoT Platform allows you to combine ready-made digital solutions from Zyfra (positioning equipment and personnel, collision prevention) and from IBS - issuing, returning and monitoring the availability of PPE, monitoring the completeness of the composition and availability of performers at the site, breathalyzing at the facility - and integrate them into the IASB PB subsystems.

Zyfra Group and IBS have already developed a roadmap for the implementation of process safety management processes. In accordance with it, industrial safety and labor protection will primarily automate processes related to proactive risk management. Among them are the management of technical and production risks and industrial safety risks, goals and measures, incidents, the management of hazardous facilities, GTS and PS for the integrated use of KFR PB.

Further, it is proposed to automate processes related to the work permit system and classic accounting functions, which are sources of production data for the designed information and analytical system.

In the field of environmental management, it is first proposed to automate processes related to laboratory tests, then processes critical for mining industries.

We observe a trend towards designing HSE process management not within ERP systems, but operational safety monitoring systems. For effective monitoring, unified, up-to-date databases on all aspects of process safety are required. Zyfra Group has extensive experience in designing monitoring systems, so we decided to develop such systems together and include elements of the management system in accordance with ISO 45001 and 14001. Over the years of working with companies from various industrial sectors, IBS has accumulated significant industrial expertise and is well aware of the needs of enterprises in the field of industrial safety. Our joint digital solution will give companies a wide range of end-to-end analytics and a tangible economic effect,
noted Olga Nikitina, Head of IBS Safety and Sustainability Management.

An important part of creating a proactive response system to production risks is the integration of all data streams into the Unified Dispatching and Analytical Center of the company (EDAC). The integration of all data and analytics allows you to comprehensively look at production risks, taking into account not only the factors affecting the implementation of the plan, from the outside, technologies but also at ecology industrial safety. EDAC ensures the transparency of production processes and allows you to quickly make decisions on the management of individual facilities and production in general. Thus, the integration of the EDAC and the EASB PB will ensure production management in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. It is important to note that the speed of information receipt critically affects the results of the proactive industrial risk management system, which is why we focused on creating a joint solution based on our platform and MES system, and not at higher levels (ERP or).
