2023: Start of construction of a series of electric ships for Moscow for 8 billion rubles

A shipyard Emperium (part of, Sitronics controlled by) AFK Sistema in the Leningrad Region will build a new series of passenger pleasure ships powered by electric traction "Moscow 2.0." This became known on August 11, 2023.

By this day, according to Vedomosti, Sitronics is completing the design of these vessels, the construction of the lead vessel will begin in the fall of 2023. According to one of the sources of the publication, the company has already received preliminary documents, but the cutting of the metal has not yet begun. The volume of investments in the project will amount to 8 billion rubles.

The new electric power will be larger than those that are already operating in Moscow, and will be similar in size to the Ecocruiser series produced by the company. Their length will be 30-35 m, and their width is about 8 m. There is also a ship called Moscow (without 2.0) in the company's catalog, but it is slightly larger than the stated size.

In total, the shipyard, which is part of Sitronics, will build 25-26 ships, each of which will cost about 300 million rubles. Sources assure that procurement financing will be carried out through the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), with which Emerium already had a conflict over electric ships for Moscow.

Earlier, GTLK filed a lawsuit against the shipyard and demanded 8.46 million rubles in penalties due to a failure to meet the deadlines for the delivery of ships. Then the problems of the shipyard arose due to sanctions and failures in supply chains. It was about batteries. But now the river electric trams have reached the route, the problem, apparently, has been solved.

At the same time, GTLK denies the purchase of Moscow 2.0 by August 2023, although they confirm that the company plans to expand its presence in the segment of electric water transport. Including purchasing 16 electric passenger ships of the 401001 Ecobus project and six of the Ecocruiser project from Emperium[1]
