In mid-August 2023, the NGO Electric machine"" (part Uralvagonzavod/UVZ/ of the state corporation Rostec"") presented a new ship gyro-stabilized remotely controlled combat module (BM) designed to combat sea and air drones. The development was called Narwhal.

According to the press service of Rostec, Narval is designed to destroy surface, coastal facilities, sea mines and the defense of ships from sea and air drones. The Narwhal can be mounted on light boats with a displacement of up to 20 tons as a main or auxiliary weapon system.

The main armament of the complex is the Kord machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. To compensate for pitching during sea disturbance and shooting in motion, the module is equipped with three-plane gyrostabilization of the sighting system and gun, as well as a target tracking machine.

The sighting complex consists of a day camera, a thermal imager and a laser rangefinder. Additionally, it is possible to install a weather station, a circular scan complex, a radar with a detection range of up to 600 meters, and means of defense against high-precision weapons.
