2023: Sentence - a fine of 1.4 million rubles for bribes
On August 10, 2023, the Sovetsky District Court of Bryansk sentenced Igor Katskov, the former head physician of the Bryansk Regional Oncological Dispensary. He was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe in a significant amount through an intermediary) and was sentenced to pay a fine of 1.4 million rubles.
He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in the public service and in local governments for a period of 2 years. In addition, the court confiscated 140 thousand rubles received as a result of the crime.
According to the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Bryansk region, from July to October 2022, the head of the dispensary received a bribe from a representative of a commercial organization in the form of money in the total amount of 140 thousand rubles for concluding contracts for the supply of medicines and their timely payment.
The court sentenced him to a fine of ten times the amount of the bribe, i.e. 1.4 million rubles, the bribe itself was also confiscated in favor of the state. The crime was revealed by operational employees FSB MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia of regional departments and, noted in the regional prosecutor's office.
Katskov's criminal case caused many resonant responses on social networks. Dozens of people admitted in the comments that he is a gifted doctor and saved a lot of patients in his time of life.
Previously, Katskov worked as a surgeon of the microsurgery group of the thoracic department, a surgeon of the general oncology department at the Moscow City Oncological Hospital No. 62, an oncologist, head of the operating unit of the Bryansk Regional Oncological Dispensary, and chief freelance oncologist of the Health Department of the Bryansk Region.[1]
