Alexander Martynov, Seven Group: Russia has every reason to saturate the market with decent and high-quality world-class software
The exodus of foreign giants freed up a large market share, which Russian companies will enjoy. So, domestic vendors have a unique opportunity to bite off a significant part of the IT pie. Import substitution today is a compromise. We have to choose from existing Russian IT solutions. Customers are forced to create a new IT landscape, on the one hand, meeting the needs of the business, on the other, meeting the principles of digital sovereignty. What interesting IT products are in the company's basket, says the founder of Seven Group, Alexander Martynov.
What do you think about the current state of affairs in the Russian IT market?
Alexander Martynov: The departure of foreign vendors from the Russian Federation prompted most companies to reorient themselves to Russian software. There is even some oversaturation of the market with domestic IT products. At the moment, in the "Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases," it is also the "Register of Russian Software," more than 16 thousand records of domestic developments. On the one hand, this is good, because competition is an engine of progress. On the other hand, this redundancy is often accompanied by insufficient processability. After all, not everything that is published can really be considered products. However, the Register is constantly being replenished, and the maturity of products is increasing.
In fact, the "window of opportunity" has now opened. Look, we managed to significantly outstrip Western countries in the digitalization of a number of industries. We can boast of state services in electronic form, which are used by almost 100 million people. Our online banking is ahead of the world and even sets global trends. Western experts also note the manufacturability and high rates of development of Russian taxi ecosystems, car sharing and delivery services. This means that we are able to make innovative and competitive world-class products.
And there is another confirmation of this. The search engine Yandex"" is among the five most popular in the world, ABBYY and more than a hundred million people use the dictionary and text recognizer. Domestic antivirus "" is in Kaspersky demand in more than two hundred countries of the world and has 400 million users. So Russia there is every reason to saturate the domestic market with decent and high-quality, software as well as strengthen its position at the international level.
I would like to note that the departure of Western vendors translated import substitution from non-obvious slogans into vital necessity. It is clear that he hit the enterprise segment hardest. About 40% of large Russian companies have already faced this problem. Of course, no one will remove the purchased software, but the lack of updates and technical support slowly and sadly translates progressive information systems into legacy until recently.
And this is another opportunity for Russian vendors to make a digital breakthrough and declare themselves. It is clear that it will not be possible to import the conditional SAP with one product. And here those integrators who can assemble a full-fledged landscape or solution from Russian products and "cover" all the necessary business needs will have an advantage. At the same time, it is no secret that the full functionality of SAP for many Russian companies is redundant and often was not used even half.
And what is your company doing for import substitution?
Alexander Martynov: We have long been on the market of system integration and custom development and for many years we have been creating "import-substituting" solutions for our customers. At a time when digital independence had not yet become mainstream, we began to create our own products, thus becoming a Russian vendor.
Back in 2019, the ESB 7TECH appeared in our product portfolio - an integration bus, which is recorded in the register of Russian software. Subsequently, we significantly redesigned it, conceptually changing the approach. Now we can boast of a modern integration low-code enterprise-level platform - 7TECH INTEGRA.
Integra fits perfectly with our other product, the MDM 7TECH. This system is responsible for data management, designed to organize and synchronize information from different IT systems. In fact, MDM guarantees the integrity and consistency of data, cleans and enriches it, in fact, becoming the only "source of truth."
I would like to note that both products are mutually beneficial partners. Where Integra collects data from various sources, allowing it to fill MDM directories, and it, in turn, gives data uniformity and consistency.
Being self-sufficient, both of these products are key components of the PoDT (Platform of Digital Transformation) platform. The platform is our concept product, an efficient and convenient tool for digital business transformation and new application development. Since 2020, the product has been in the Register of Domestic Software. In fact, this is a complex of interrelated software and development environment, functioning according to certain standards of interaction and internal logic, which makes it possible to solve any problems in the field of automation of business processes, integration interactions and creation of new services. The platform is easily integrated into any IT landscape, which gives businesses the opportunity to reduce time-2-market by 7 times, increase the labor productivity of specialists engaged in the development of new services by up to 30% and increase revenue by 3-5% due to increased process efficiency.
I would like to note another, more applied product with a purely Russian orientation - "REGISTRY." By name, it is easy to guess that it provides a legally significant document flow with the department of the same name. It helps to save up to 80% of the cost of payroll of employees involved in cooperation with Rosreestr through direct integration with the government agency, automation of a number of operations and a reduction in the number of employees performing registration actions.
Our products are boxed solutions that are fully ready for rapid deployment, both on-premium and in the cloud. They do not need to be "finished." They are comfortable and quite easy to use. Any specialist with experience in similar Western solutions will quickly get used to them.
Please tell us more about the integration platform.
Alexander Martynov: As I said, the product is called Integra. It is a convenient environment for creating, managing and maintaining data streams and orchestrating them. The platform is implemented on a microservice architecture with low-code tools, allows you to easily and quickly connect various data sources and connect applications into a single IT landscape.
Unlike many low-code solutions, Integra will be useful for analysts and developers involved in the company's reengineering of business processes and building enterprise-level integrations. Thanks to many ready-made connectors and handlers, as well as the ability to write your integration bridges in a simple and convenient interface, the programmer works 10 times faster, which also reduces the cost of development. Due to the intuitive block interface and the built-in onboarding system, Integra allows you to create corporate integrations not only by the hands of developers, but also by analysts. In fact, in the vast majority of cases, analysts can and should create integrations, it is much more profitable and effective.
Integra provides extensive capabilities to monitor and manage performance, resources, nodes, and communication queues. In addition, the product does not need to be rebooted when upgrading and restoring the product. This is convenient when implementing, when the unique logic of corporate integration interactions is being worked out. Thus, all changes are carried out seamlessly, "on hot," without the need to "stop" the system.
"Under the hood" of the platform "jet engine" of the new generation Spring Webflux. It even surpasses the products of departed vendors in terms of flexibility and performance. Including, thanks to him, we have successfully coped with the problem of many low-code solutions that implement integrations mainly at the MVP level, and "crumble" when data streaming is required on an industrial scale.
Thanks to Integra, any company can collect as many applications like CRM, ERP, specialized industry products like ABS, SCADA, QMS, etc. into one digital ecosystem, data from Internet sites, government information systems and much more. Thus, it is possible to fully replace almost all the functionality of the departed large vendor, for example, SAP.
And your other product, MDM, how much can it replace MDM conditionally from SAP or IBM?
Alexander Martynov: Of course, we still need to "grow" to the level of such large players. However, in developing our MDM, we set out to close key customer data needs. And now, comparing the basic functionality of various master data management systems and NSIs, we can say that our solution, thanks to advanced deduplication and effective harmonization, is not inferior to its Western counterparts.
We were able to create a product that can be successfully used both in small companies and in the enterprise segment. Our MDM is built on a microservice architecture for fault tolerance and scalability. And the API simplifies integration between systems - data sources and their consumers.
7TECH MDM is, in fact, a kind of "bank" of data, where all information is stored in one place, in a single format and is always available for use. Moreover, this data is always relevant, integral and consistent for all enterprise applications, regardless of which system it was collected in. Therefore, some analysts argue that MDM allows 6 times to improve the quality of data.
In addition, the data management system allows you to optimize business processes and reduce the time to make effective management decisions. Analytical reviews note 40% acceleration due to the orderliness of information and easy access to it.
Our MDM is also flexible, capable of working with both internal corporate and external data. For example, all-Russian classifiers, registers, exchange information, exchange rates, supplier prices, etc., can be downloaded on a schedule, updating data automatically even in real time.
One of the notable advantages of our system is an advanced deduplication service. It is based not just on identifying and deleting the same records, but on complex logic that involves normalizing the data and then comparing and merging similar records using machine learning algorithms. As a result, the MDM, as I said, forms a single "truth center" that stores "golden records" about all the organization's data.
How does 7TECH MDM help companies and organizations?
Alexander Martynov: I paraphrase Rothschild's famous words: "Whoever owns high-quality data owns the world." Thinking about the usefulness of our master data management system, I would like to note its versatility. Our solution is not tailored for any specific industry or type of organization, the system will be useful to everyone from production companies to government agencies.
Let's consider a typical task for corporations - managing data about partners, suppliers, etc. Such information is often received and stored in different systems, in different formats and used by different departments. This creates difficulties in the exchange and application of this data, since each employee works in his usual systems, for example, 1C CRM or, even in a separate one. Excel file So, when you constantly update and change supplier lists, it is very important to be able to centrally manage all this economy. Our MDM service is ideal for tasks of this type. It allows you to collect information about counterparties from various sources and store it in the same format, forming a single register of counterparties. Which in turn makes it possible to manage this data in real time, giving each department access to up-to-date and complete data right in the system in which they operate. All in this, in the end, helps to speed up decision-making processes and increase the efficiency of the entire organization.
Government agencies and organizations can also appreciate the benefits of MDM 7TECH. One of the possible options is a significant acceleration of the processes of working with feedback from the population. MDM stores information about citizens, institutions, services, left applications or reviews in the form of separate directories and registries in a single format. For example, when a citizen leaves an application for a service provided in a state institution, data on a person received by the service, the place of receipt, etc., are compared, interconnected and distributed to the corresponding target systems of the state organization. This helps to make informed and operational decisions, improving the quality of the provided public services.
So no matter who buys a product from us - a small business, a large corporation or a government agency - we offer a solution that will help you manage your data effectively.
At the beginning of the conversation, you mentioned system integration. How has this direction now "integrated" into the agenda of increased demand for import substitution?
Alexander Martynov: If we talk about system integration, then on this field we have been "playing" for a very long time and have high expertise, both in the development of an import substitution strategy and the selection of optimal solutions, and in their implementation and maintenance. Our approach is classic, but verified - multivendor, focus on the products of Russian manufacturers and suppliers from friendly countries.
The client does not buy a specific product, but wants to get a turnkey solution to his business problems. Often, there is no ready at all on the market, and if there is, it is inconvenient to use it. Therefore, for our clients, we select and interconnect the optimal set of components, from equipment to system and application software. And if necessary, then with additional custom modification. As a result, we provide a full range of services inherent in a real system integrator.
I am sure that soon by joint efforts most domestic companies will form the Russian IT landscape and make a technological breakthrough in all industries, thus ensuring the digital sovereignty of our country.
