2023: Product Announcement
On August 16, 2023, the First Moscow State Medical University named after I. M. Sechenov (Sechenov University) announced the development of the Russian LaserTul apparatus, designed to perform operations in open and endoscopic surgery.
The device was created by specialists of JSC "RuSat RDS" - it is an industrial partner of the Advanced Engineering School "Intelligent Systems of Theranostics" as part of the Sechenov University. The principle of operation of the device is based on the use of the thermal effect of continuous, pulsed and pulsed periodic laser radiation. The novelty is suitable for performing minimally invasive procedures: dissection, removal, resection, vaporization and coagulation of pathological tissues.
It is said that compared to its counterparts, LaserToole provides more flexible options in terms of power and wavelength control (the 1900-2100 nm range is used). In addition, the performance is improved. The development of the device is completely completed. Specialists of the Sechenov University test the device on laboratory animals, as well as make proposals for adjusting ergonomics, design and technical parameters.
In most cases, as noted, surgical lasers are adapted for urological profile interventions. According to Stanislav Ali, candidate of medical sciences, assistant at the Institute of Urology and Human Reproductive Health at Sechenov University, urologists most often use solid-state lasers in their practice. LaserToole is planned to be used not only in urology, but also in surgery, coloproctology, orthopedics and dentistry. This will allow a larger set of medical manipulations and make the most of the laser during operations.[1]
