2023: Creation of production of artificial joints and endoprostheses for 1.5 billion rubles

The Ural Scientific Research Institute of Composite Materials (UNIIKM) and its subsidiary Uglekon signed an agreement with Promsvyazbank (PSB) on cooperation in creating the production of medical devices for orthopedics and surgery. The press service of the credit institution announced this at the end of August 2023.

The deal participants agreed to cooperate in the creation of industrial production of medical devices from carbon-carbon composite materials for use in orthopedics, traumatology, neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery and military field surgery.

The signed agreements are aimed at developing and implementing new high-tech medical products for treatment and rehabilitation using carbon implants. The implementation of innovative solutions will increase the volume and quality of effective medical care for patients, "said Natalia Yudina, Deputy Chairman of the PSB.

UNIIKM, as part of an investment project, plans to create a new production of import-substituting medical devices, such as artificial joints and endoprostheses of large joints. The project budget is 1.5 billion rubles, 325 million of them can be allocated by the Industrial Development Fund (FRP). Thanks to the expansion of production, the plant will open more than 180 new jobs.

At the end of August 2023, UNIIKM appealed to the Commission on Land Use and Development with a statement to establish an industrial zone PK-2 on ten of its plots on the street. Solikamskaya, 285 g, and Novozvyaginskaya, 57. The territory in the Motovilikhinsky district of Perm with a total area of ​ ​ 8.05 hectares is used by UNIIKM for production buildings, warehouses, etc. By the end of August 2023, this land is included in the zone of production and communal facilities of the IV class of harmfulness of PK-4. The applicant asks to change it to the zone of production and communal facilities of the II hazard class.[1]
