2023: Appointment as Prime Minister of Thailand

On September 5, 2023, Prime Minister Thailand Srettha Thavisin and members of the country's new government pledged allegiance to King Rama X (Maha Vachiralongkorn). The ceremony was held at the royal palace in Bangkok.

In July 2023, the leader of the election-winning Movement Forward party, Pita Limcharoenrat, did not receive the necessary support from Senate members. As a result, the Parliament and the House of Representatives of Thailand approved the candidacy of Tavisin from the party "For Thailand" ("Phya Thai") for the post of prime minister.

During the press conference, Tavisin said that his government intends to do everything possible to improve the quality of life of the Thai people and solve many pressing problems facing the country. In particular, it is said about the intention to lower electricity prices and reduce fares on city trains, as well as raise the minimum wage. In addition, the new Prime Minister advocates the abolition of compulsory military service for citizens of the kingdom.
