2023: System Launch
On September 6, 2023, Hyundai Motor announced the launch of the Hyundai Pay payment system, which allows cash transactions through the touchscreen display of the automotive infotainment complex.
The Hyundai Pay platform makes it possible to find and pay for purchases through a bot media center, for which you must first enter your bank card information. The service will debut on the Hyundai Kona compact crossover of the 2024 model range. Then the payment system will become available in nine more Hyundai cars - when changing the model year or updating the embedded software.
As part of the development of the project, Hyundai entered into a partnership agreement with Parkopedia. Drivers will be able to find, reserve and pay for parking in 6,000 places in the United States - all from the interior of the car through the screen of the multimedia complex.
In the future, it is planned to expand the list of services based on Hyundai Pay: in particular, there will be functions aimed specifically at electric vehicles. Payment security is ensured by tokenization. Drivers will also be able to access Hyundai Pay through Bluelink's branded mobile app. Among other things, it allows you to remotely start the engine, control the climatic system, receive information about the state of the car and load routes into the navigation system.
With Hyundai Pay's scalable e-commerce platform, we can improve the convenience of motorists and expand the range of digital services by making everyday tasks like finding and paying for parking easier, faster and safer with robust transactional technology, said Olabisi Boyle, vice president of product and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America.[1] |
