2023: Production Launch

On September 8, 2023, Avtotor announced the start of production of small and medium-tonnage commercial electric vehicles under the Brock brand. The cars will be produced in collaboration with Chinese truck manufacturer Foton.

The base model will be the Brock 75 - a truck with a gross weight of up to 7.5 tons. It will be equipped with a 156-horsepower electric motor combined with an 81-kilowatt battery. The 16-ton Brock 160 will receive a 218-force motor and a 246- kVt⋅ch battery.

Production of electric cars under the Brock brand has begun

In both cases, lithium-iron-phosphate batteries are used, providing a range of up to 300 kilometers. It will take about 2 hours to fully recharge them from powerful stations.

Vehicles will be prepared to equip superstructures, including onboard platforms, vans, refrigerators, auto hydraulic lifts, garbage trucks, tow trucks.

According to the press service of Avtotor, at the stage of capacity preparation, a set of work was carried out to modernize and equip the production line with special equipment, including equipment for incoming control of the power battery, power electronics unit, electric motor, equipment for static and dynamic checking of an electric car, calibration of electronic devices, safety checks (insulation resistance, voltage characteristics, potential equality, power testing, etc.), control of car charging functions, fast and slow chargers and several dozen more names of special equipment and tools. Avtotor invested 130 million rubles in a new line for the production of these cars.

Foton Motor is one of the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Over 25 years, the company has produced 10 million commercial vehicles (by September 2023).[1]
