2023: Migration to the 1C:ERP System Using the PIX RPA Software Robot

The plant Atomspetservice"," operating in the sphere atomic mechanical engineering for more than 20 years, migrates to the system 1C:ERP with. software robot PIX RPA Robotization automates routine transient entry operations data and avoids the risk of data loss in the historical system. Atomspetservice uses an operational accounting system at the CASCAD MP engineering enterprise, however, due to limited functionality and low rates of development and support of this system, the company decided to switch to 1C:. ERP Integrator the project is BIT: ERP - the office of the company First Bit"."

The transition to 1C:ERP takes place in stages, and for this period the entire completeness of operational data and all connections with other accounting systems of the enterprise should be preserved in the historical system. This is achieved by integrating the system being implemented and the old system. It turned out that the developer of the CASCADE MP system would not be able to take part in this project. Therefore, the implementation of event integration at the level of records in database tables carries the risk of data integrity violation in the old system.

To solve the problem of ensuring the completeness of data in the historical system and avoid double input of information by users, the BIT: ERP team invited the customer to use software robotization.

In our projects, we use an iterative-incremental approach, therefore, during the transition from a historical system to an updated one, both should work in the organization. However, it turned out that the IS "CASCADE MP" is written in Delphi, poorly documented software. The aggravating factor was the inability to attract its developer to the project. We proposed to solve the problem of integration without development on the side of the IS "CASCADE MP" using a software robot,

The PIX Robotics team trained Atomspetservice IT specialists to work on the PIX RPA platform and helped create the robot. The digital employee is designed to enter in the historical system the item cards, certificates, receipt invoices received from the 1C:ERP, completely repeating the user's actions.

For our company, using the PIX software robot is the first experience. It turned out that this is a rather powerful and easy-to-learn tool that we were able to use to solve the integration problem. For us, the robot became a kind of collaborator of two systems - "CASCADE MP" and 1C:ERP - for the period of implementation and allowed not to abandon the transition within the framework of the Agile method proposed by the system integrator,

Most often, software robots "enter" the company through the departments of accounting, HR or logistics, that is, those where a large amount of standard routine repetitive tasks. However, the case of the Atomspetservice migration to 1C:ERP shows that the robot is an excellent digital assistant in non-standard situations, usually solved by classic automation tools.
