Aurora Airlines purchased 95 Baikal aircraft

On September 11, 2023, Aurora Airlines announced the purchase of new Baikal aircraft. To do this, the carrier entered into an agreement with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) and the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA).

According to the press service of Aurora, the number and equipment of aircraft take into account the need of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District for light-engine aircraft to carry out socially significant passenger transportation, as well as aviation and transport work commissioned by regional and federal state customers.

LMS "Baikal"

The possibility of raising funds from the National Wealth Fund to finance the transaction is being considered. It is planned that the aircraft will replenish the fleet of a single Far Eastern airline in 2026-2030. and will be made in various configurations for passenger, transport, aviation security, sanitary aviation and other air missions.

The supply of light universal aircraft of a new type LMS-901 Baikal will expand the route network operating in the Far East, improve the quality of aviation services, increase passenger traffic and reduce operating costs.

The signing of an agreement on the supply of 95 new Baikal aircraft is the result of the Airline's work on the transition to the practical stage of the implementation of the fleet renewal program of a single Far Eastern airline. The delivery of new domestic aircraft of this class for socially significant transportation in the Far Eastern Federal District is a step towards fulfilling the task set by the President - increasing transport accessibility in the region. Economic efficiency, technical reliability and comfort for passengers are what the Airline and our passengers expect from the new aircraft, - said the general director of Aurora Konstantin Sukhorebrik.[1]
