Mijia Fruit and Vegetable Cleaner

In early September 2023, Xiaomi announced the Mijia Fruit and Vegetable Cleaner, an unusual "washing machine" for fruits and vegetables.

The new kitchen appliance consists of a main unit and two special cleaning heads. The Block can be placed on a table or suspended on a wall, thereby freeing up the workspace. Heads can be used either individually or together - for example, to wash meat and vegetables/fruits at the same time.

The device is equipped with a variable speed engine, which creates a powerful flow of water for thorough cleaning of certain products. The declared efficiency of removing contaminants reaches 94.8%. Chlorine dioxide and light-based water ion purification technologies are used to eliminate harmful contaminants such as bacteria, pesticides, hormones and heavy metals. There is no need to use additional detergents.

The device is capable of generating high-energy microbubbles with adsorption properties, which makes it possible to effectively remove dirt from hard-to-reach places. An electrolytic plate is also provided that emits a large number of sterilizing ions: this further increases the overall cleaning efficiency. In the front part of the main unit housing there is an information display and controls.

Mijia Fruit and Vegetable Cleaner supports several modes of operation, depending on the type of products used. For example, washing a bowl of fruits or grains will take about 6 minutes, meat and vegetables - 8 minutes, seafood - 15 minutes. It is also possible to dry, and the ventilation function ensures the circulation of fresh air. The device can be purchased at an estimated price of $60.^[1]
