2023: 12.5 years in prison for supplying components for anti-aircraft missile systems and radar weapons to the United States

In September 2023, it became known that the Tver Regional Court sentenced citizen Russia Sergei Kabanov to 12 years and 6 months in prison for committing treason. The traitor organized, on the instructions of the American special services, a smuggling channel for the supply USA of Russian military products.

According to TASS, citing the FSB Public Relations Center (DSP), Sergei Kabanov, in transit through Latvia, sent products used in the rocket technology of the Russian Armed Forces to Victory Procurement Services, controlled by the US Department of Defense.

The channel for transferring components of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems and radar weapons to the enemy was eliminated, the DSP noted.

The sentencing of Sergei Kabanov on September 7, 2023 was reported by Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent). As the publication clarified, the verdict was announced on July 3 - on that day, Sergei Kabanov sent a letter in which he compared his case with a "soap bubble" and said that it was connected with his activities "in the field of aerospace industry development" and relations with the United States. Before his arrest in April 2021, Sergei Kabanov was the general director of the Sodruzhestvo TransTeleCom, which was engaged in fuel trading.^[1]
