On September 13, 2023, researchers from St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI) announced the development of a highly maneuverable robotic platform for transporting goods at enterprises.

Automated system is made on chassis with four wheels. Thanks to its modular design, the robot can be equipped with equipment for various tasks. Radar, lidar and other sensors are responsible for navigation and traffic safety, allowing you to track the location of the car and identify obstacles on the way.

The developers note that existing counterparts are usually driven by one or two electric motors. The new Russian platform received a design with improved reliability and increased efficiency. The developers excluded mechanical gears and put an electric drive on each wheel: this solution made it possible to simplify suspension elements and rotary assemblies. In the event of a failure of one or more electric motors, the control system allows you to continue along a given route using serviceable drives. In addition, the car is able to move in narrow spaces, turn around in place, change the direction of movement without turning, and also drive sideways.

The robot can transport loads weighing up to 150 kg. The speed reaches 12 km/h, which is enough to perform tasks at industrial facilities. The machine moves independently along a given trajectory: to build a route between two or several points, the accompanying software written in LETI is used.
